Amid reports of sudden rise in hate crimes against Muslims after the surprise victory of Republican Donald Trump in the United States presidential elections, several mosques across the country received threatening emails and letters against the community living in the nation.
In a recent incident, three mosques in California and one in Georgia received an anonymous handwritten letter warned Muslims to "pack your bags and get out of dodge as Trump is going to cleanse America and make it shine again".
According to Council on American-Islamic Relations(CAIR), the letter states, "There's a new sheriff in town President Donald Trump. He's going to cleanse America and make it shine again. And, he's going to start with you Muslims." "And, he's going to do to you Muslims what Hitler did to the jews (sic)."
Hussam Ayloush, leader of the council's Los Angeles branch, said that, "This hate campaign targeting California houses of worship must be investigated as an act of religious intimidation, and our state's leaders should speak out against the growing anti-Muslim bigotry that leads to such incidents."
CAIR said that, since Donald Trump who was against the Muslim immigration and railed against the community was elected as president in November, 8 presidential polls, more than hundred anti-Muslim incident have occurred nationwide.
