Less than a day after India's remarkable victory in the Women's ODI World Cup, team captain Harmanpreet Kaur has secured a major endorsement deal with real estate company Omaxe Ltd. Harmanpreet has been chosen as the brand ambassador for Omaxe, which aims to capitalize on India's first World Cup win in women's cricket by partnering with the captain. India clinched their first ICC Women's World Cup title by defeating South Africa by 52 runs. On Monday, Omaxe announced that Kaur would be representing the brand. The company stated that their collaboration with Harmanpreet Kaur showcases their commitment to supporting sports excellence and developing facilities where athletes can flourish. Regarding the partnership, Harmanpreet Kaur expressed, "I feel honored to become Omaxe's brand ambassador and to align with a company that focuses on empowering the youth, enhancing communities, and establishing resources that motivate dreams and help achieve them."
Harmanpreet added that Omaxe's involvement in Punjab and their aim of creating top-notch infrastructure gives her great optimism for communities, especially for younger generations. "This collaboration aims to create opportunities that increase sports involvement, promote more women’s participation in sports, and boost local economies. One remarkable result of this vision will be the establishment of a new world-class cricket stadium in the national capital after over 140 years—a significant achievement for both the city and Indian sports," stated Mohit Goel, Managing Director of Omaxe. Omaxe is recognized as one of the top real estate companies in the country.
Women's cricket was often seen as merely a formality, but as of Monday morning, it has transformed into a genuine career path, all thanks to Harmanpreet and her teammates. "We've had discussions about this for years—we’ve been playing well, but we needed to win a major tournament. Without that, we couldn't discuss any real change," Harmanpreet shared with the media following India's victory. "Ultimately, fans want to see their favorite team succeed. It wasn’t that we weren’t performing well, but we were eagerly awaiting this moment, and now we've finally experienced it. I can't quite express how I feel, but I am extremely happy and proud of this team," Harmanpreet maintained her composure, though it was clear she was experiencing a whirlwind of emotions.
"I'm attempting to convey what I'm feeling. I feel overwhelmed. I can't fully understand it. A journalist asked me two questions, and I could only respond to one," she said when asked to explain that feeling of winning.
