10th Annual India Republic Day Celebration & Festival  has been concluded during the last week,  at Performance Pavilion, Lake Elizabeth Park in the Fremont city.

The program featured, cultural folk and Bollywood dances along with singing, dancing, painting,  art, and public speaking competitions for the youths.

The event was founded by locals Vinita Bhutoria and Ajay Jain Bhutoria. The event aims to preserve and celebrate Indian heritage. The program also provides a platform for Indian children to showcase their talent and build their self esteem, self confidence, and social skills.

According to the organizers, the event was attended by  Bill Harrison, Fremont Mayor, Alan Nagy,  Newark Mayor, Jose Esteves, Milpitas Mayor and Assemblyman Bill Quirk. Around 3,000 people have participated in the event.

There is around  250 children participated in the art contest, while,  80 children took part in the talent contests for singing, dancing, musical instruments and other categories. Nearly, 40 dance teams with over 250 performers competed in the program.

The program was free of cost and the organizers also provided free lunches to around 2,500 people along with,  free pizza and refreshments to more than 800 children.
